  • ULTIMA ULTRA 10 mm smooth PURE dark gray tiles, PURE yellow section
  • Tiles glued to the aisles between the racks where the Fenwick forklifts operate

In brief: Poyet Motte, a 200-year-old factory in Cours-la-Ville (Rhône), renovated 2,000 m² of warehouse and workshop space in July 2022 using 10-mm-thick, smooth ULTIMA ULTRA PURE tiles in dark gray and yellow. Four MOSAIK-FLOOR installers completed the project in one week, following a partial leveling of the heavily damaged floor, with the tiles adhered to the aisles where the Fenwick forklifts operate.

The Initial Need

Poyet Motte operates a 200-year-old factory in Cours-la-Ville, in the Rhône region. Over the decades, the flooring in the warehouse and workshops had deteriorated significantly: cracked and chipped concrete, peeling old floor paint, and holes in the aisles where forklifts travel. They needed to renovate 2,000 m² quickly, with a floor capable of withstanding the daily traffic of Fenwick forklifts moving between the racks.

The Selected Solution

The most damaged areas were first partially leveled. The 10-mm-thick, smooth ULTIMA ULTRA tiles in dark gray PURE were then installed over the entire floor, with a section in yellow PURE framed by dark gray. In the warehouse aisles, where forklifts move between the racks, the tiles were glued down to withstand heavy traffic; elsewhere, they were interlocked. A team of four MOSAIK-FLOOR installers completed the 2,000 m² project in one week in July 2022.

Before, After

The before-and-after photos in the gallery show the transformation in three areas: the rack aisle, the loading dock, and the production workshop. A uniform, clean, and bright floor replaces the worn-out concrete—without any demolition.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Construction Project

Can PVC tiles be installed on a severely damaged factory floor?

Yes, after proper preparation: at Poyet Motte, the most damaged areas were partially leveled before the ULTIMA ULTRA tiles were installed over the 2,000 m².

Should the tiles be glued down where forklifts operate?

In the aisles where Fenwick forklifts move and turn between the racks, adhesive installation is recommended to withstand heavy traffic. Elsewhere, the tiles can remain clip-mounted.

How long does it take to install 2,000 m²?

One week with a team of four MOSAIK-FLOOR installers, including partial leveling.

How many slabs are needed for 2,000 m²?

Approximately 8,000 ULTIMA ULTRA tiles measuring 50 x 50 cm, with each tile covering 0.25 m², plus cutting scraps.
