Hiolle Technologies (59): Forklift and pallet jack on MOSAIK INTENSE running plates

Use Cases

920 m² machining shop with rolling surfaces, accessible to forklifts

  • Client: Hiolle Technologies
  • Industry: Manufacturing
  • Area: 920 m²
  • Location: Nord (59)
  • Completion date: July 2026
  • Service: Tiles supplied by MOSAIK-FLOOR; installation performed by the customer
  • Substrate: Recycled concrete

Constraints

  • Used concrete in an active workshop
  • Heavy traffic from Fenwick forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Very heavy loads between machining centers

Solution

  • MOSAIK INTENSE 40 mm paving slabs, 40 t/m²
  • Distribution plates installed directly on the concrete
  • Installation performed by the client's teams; cutouts around the machines

In brief: Hiolle Technologies, a manufacturing company based in the Nord department (59), installed 920 m² of 40-mm-thick MOSAIK INTENSE industrial flooring in its machining shop in July 2026. The flooring was supplied by MOSAIK-FLOOR and installed by the company’s own teams over existing concrete. These load-distribution plates withstand the heavy traffic of Fenwick forklifts and heavily loaded pallet jacks.

Hiolle Technologies (59): Forklift and pallet jack on MOSAIK INTENSE running plates

The Initial Need

Hiolle Technologies operates a machining shop in northern France where machining centers, lathes, and saws are surrounded by a constant stream of Fenwick forklifts and pallet jacks loaded with very heavy parts. The shop’s existing concrete floor was suffering from this heavy traffic: an industrial floor capable of withstanding the loads was needed—one that could be installed without major construction work or prolonged production downtime.

The solution chosen: running boards

In July 2026, Hiolle Technologies’ teams installed 920 m² of MOSAIK INTENSE traffic plates directly on the concrete. Measuring 40 mm thick and capable of withstanding loads of up to 40 metric tons per square meter, these load-distribution panels spread the weight of forklifts and pallet jacks, protect the concrete, and provide a non-slip surface with raised dots. The plates are cut with a jigsaw to fit around the equipment. Traffic lanes are marked with a yellow paint stripe applied to the plates.

This Project by the Numbers

  • 920 m² of MOSAIK INTENSE 40 mm tiles, or approximately 1,350 tiles with a usable area of 0.68 m² each
  • Strength: 40 metric tons per square meter
  • Heavily Loaded Fenwick Forklifts and Pallet Jacks
  • Install directly on concrete, without adhesive

Frequently Asked Questions About This Construction Project

Can paving slabs be used as an indoor industrial floor?

Yes: At Hiolle Technologies, MOSAIK INTENSE tiles cover 920 m² of the machining shop floor, installed directly on the concrete between the machines.

Can they support forklifts?

Yes: they can withstand up to 40 metric tons per square meter. These load-distribution plates spread the weight of heavily loaded Fenwick forklifts and pallet jacks and protect the concrete.

Can you install the plates yourself?

Yes: The 920 m² were installed by teams from Hiolle Technologies. The panels interlock without adhesive and can be cut with a jigsaw around the machines.

How many panels are needed for 920 m²?

Approximately 1,350 MOSAIK INTENSE tiles, with each tile covering 0.68 m² of usable area (100 x 68 cm).
