Loose-laid PVC garage tiles.
As with all PVC flooring, heat causes expansion.
Often caused by exposure to direct sunlight, or simply by ambient temperatures above 25-27°C, expansion creates waves on the floor, causing the slabs to unclip. When the temperature drops, the tiles return to their original size.
To prevent expansion, tiles should be bonded with two-component adhesive.
Recommendations before gluing PVC tiles:
- The floor must be perfectly clean and dry. Any traces of moisture, grease, hydrocarbons or other substances will prevent the adhesive from adhering.
- To optimize glue setting, our team places a weight on the glued tiles for a few minutes.
- For gluing, adhesive manufacturers recommend a temperature between 10° and 20°.
- Drying time: 12h
In what other situations should tiles be glued?
- Forklift passage with small central multi-directional wheel
- Heavy vehicle traffic: trucks, coaches, tractors...
- When total impermeability is required: professional kitchens, clean rooms, etc.
